Billie Rose is a singer-songwriter from Charters Towers in northwest Queensland who has already released two wonderful singles, ‘Company with Regret’ and ‘Wrong Kind of Right’. Her third single is the newly released ‘Kick Her to the Curb’.
Says Billie Rose of the song, ‘I had this idea of writing a song about being in the position of the “other woman”. I wanted the song to come from her perspective of how she feels about being the mistress and that she has finally had enough of sharing what she thinks is hers. This is something I have not experienced myself, however I am sure this would be relatable to someone, somewhere.’
The song was written with Billie Rose’s good friend Peta Maree Richards and it will appear, with the first two, on Billie Rose’s debut EP, which was recorded in Sydney with producer Matt Fell. Those three songs have established that Billie Rose has an ear for a strong melody and an instinct for a powerful story; while her musical style is country music she adapts the sound to suit the song, with the result that fans are presented with a rich palette.
