Hunter Valley, NSW, singer-songwriter Trinity Woodhouse has not yet finished high school – but she’s already graduated from the CMAA Junior Academy of Country Music, won the ICMA Patti McKinnon Award for Emerging Artists, made the semi-finals of the 2019 Gympie Muster Talent Quest and been awarded ‘Young Female Achiever of the Year’ Australia Day Award at the Cessnock area’s 2020 Australia Day Ceremony. That’s in addition to performing at the Tamworth County Music Festival every year since 2017 and headlining the 2020 Macksville Muster, and playing support for Troy Kemp, Matt Scullion, Damien Leith and The Wolfe Brothers, amongst others.
It is Kemp with whom Woodhouse wrote her new single, the delightful country-pop track ‘Bouquet’, which is having its premiere here today, along with its video. It’s the follow-up to her 2018 debut single ‘Me and Sandy’, and as soon as the song was written Woodhouse knew she loved it. ‘It has changed so much, from when it was written to how I took it into recording to how it came out,’ she says, ‘and I’ve loved each version of it more and more.’
The video was produced by Duncan Toombs at The Filmery and filmed at Buttai Barn in the Hunter region. Country music fans will recognise one of the cast: the eminent artist Lyn Bowtell, who also sings backing vocals on the track.
The video is Woodhouse’s first, and she says, ‘I still can’t believe that this is the stage that my music is at. These are things I only dreamed about as a kid, so to be there on the day of filming – smiling, laughing, feeling every moment – was so surreal.’
