‘Driving Roads’ by duo This Way North is not just a song about driving – it’s a song that’s a perfect accompaniment to driving, with its outlaw beat and sense of contained urgency. It’s also probably a bittersweet song for the band members, singer/guitarist Leisha Jungalwalla and drummer Cat Leahy, as after spending three years touring full time and living in their van, Hector, they are now grounded in Yackandandah in regional Victoria.

‘“Driving Roads” is very much an ode to the open road, capturing our love for adventure and the excitement that comes with that—it’s so visceral,’ says Jungalwalla. ‘We love nothing more than taking a road we’ve never been on before.’

The song comes from their upcoming EP Vol. 3, which will be released later this year, and was recorded in Nashville in January this year, produced by Brad Jones (Skipping Girl Vinegar, Justin Townes Earle, Bob Evans).

There will be a livestream single launch on Thursday 10 September at 8 p.m.
