Last year Blake O’Connor won the Golden Guitar for Best New Talent, the year after he was named the winner of Toyota Star Maker and appeared as a support act for The McClymonts during the Tamworth Country Music Festival. His debut album, Everything I Feel, reached #1 on the ARIA charts. Now O’Connor’s McClymonts connection has results in the new song ‘Willin’ & Ready’, which was written with Brooke McClymont and her husband, Adam Eckersley, who also record as a duo.

Says O’Connor of the song, ‘It has been an awesome journey to bring this song to life. From writing to recording it has been a high energy process that really comes out in the song.’ The lyrics reflect ‘where I am at right now. I’m young, ambitious and I’m always on the move with my music.’

Of course, ambition doesn’t mean much if an artist doesn’t have the talent or work ethic to back it up, but it has been clear from the moment O’Connor emerged as the Star Maker winner that he was in a great position to make the most of that win, and he proved that Everything I Feel.

‘Willin’ & Ready’ was produced by Nick DiDia and Duncan Toombs from The Filmery created a video clip using footage from the recording session – quite the COVID-safe way to do it!
