Victorian outfit Georgia State Line last released an album – their first – Heaven Knows, in 2017 and in happy news they are planning to release a second later this year. Georgia State Line is the stage moniker for singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Georgia Delves, and from that forthcoming album Delves has released the new single ‘Every Time’. It is, she says, ‘a song about making friends with the consistency of change; acknowledging what isn’t meant for you and celebrating the courage it takes to let it go. It highlights the quiet strength found in choosing to feel joy for what once was, and the power that comes with putting yourself first.’
Also playing on the song are Tom Brooks on electric guitar and pedal steel, Laura Baxter on bass and backing vocals, and Patrick Wilson on drums, percussion and piano. But it is Delves who, as on every Georgia State Line releases, captivates with her voice, which is despairing, accepting and resolute by turns.
The song was recorded in 2019 at James Cecil’s studio, Super Melody World, in Macedon, Victoria/Wurundjeri country and the video was filmed in the Wimmera/Wotjobaluk country.
