After Allison Forbes released her debut album, Bonedigger, it received four Golden Guitar nominations – but she wasn’t able to support it with shows because that was 2020, and then it was 2021. Still, she persevered with new music and created the unforgettable Dead Men Tell No Tales, an album of depth and love and pain – a very human album from an artist who has shown, across both albums, that she is fundamentally interested in the complexities of life and the paths we walk, whether chosen or not. I embraced the opportunity to talk to her about her songs and her singing, which is how she conveys so many of those complexities. You can watch that chat on YouTube or listen in Soundcloud.
