Mandy Hawkes is a singer-songwriter from the Northern Rivers district of New South Wales who plays in a country-folk style and released the EP The Water Was Deep in 2017. Since then she has released three unforgettable singles, ‘They Say Love’, ‘We Were Just Kids’ and her latest, ‘Black Dog’. Hawkes has a background rich in text and music, and a desire to explore, through her music, the question of what it means to be on this earth, and to make sense of it. Her songs reflect this thoughtfulness and, as her heart is fully in then, connect movingly with the listener. We spoke recently about the breadth of her life in music and about her new single. You can watch that chat on YouTube, or listen in Soundcloud or on the podcast.
