In between being one of the most in-demand musicians and music video makers in the country, Duncan Toombs found time to make his first album, Steel on Steel. It’s a record of Toombs’s life, the things that matter to him and those he holds close to his heart, as well as an opportunity for Toombs to demonstrate just why he’s so popular with other artists, with his golden vocals and excellent musicianship. And country music fans agree: on release the album went to number 1 on the ARIA Australian Country Albums Chart and number 2 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart, and it has returned to that number 1 spot since. Toombs and I spoke recently about the album and his headline show at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. You can watch our chat on YouTube, or listen in Soundcloud or on the podcast.
