Mark Moldre is a singer-songwriter from northern New South Wales. He fronted four-piece band Hitchcock’s Regret for a seven-year period and recorded his first solo release in 2009. His previous album was 2019’s Fever Dreams.
Moldre’s latest album is Nambucca Fables, which combines melodic Americana and indie pop-rock. It is a moving, often dreamlike exploration of grief – specifically, Moldre’s grief after his mother died. She grew up in Nambucca Heads, NSW, and it is to this place and his memories of it that he turned to inspire the new album. We spoke about the album recently and you can watch our chat on YouTube, or listen in Soundcloud or on the podcast.
There will be two shows to launch the album, both in New South Wales: Saturday 24 June at The Golden Barley in Enmore, and Sunday 9 July at Link & Pin in Woy Woy at 4 p.m.
