Ahead of the release of their album Corner of Hampstead & Dornoch, out on 21 June, Brisbane band The Wicked Messenger have released the album’s final track as their latest single. The country-soul ballad ‘No Worries’ follows singles ‘Scottish Bands & Holding Hands’ and ‘Ten Years Older’. The new album follows 2019 EP I Want to Know You and debut album Bellbird Grove in 2021.

New single ‘No Worries’ documents a stream of consciousness of songwriter Jimi Beavis who, with Janey McEniery, forms the core of The Wicked Messenger, which also features a cast of other musicians.

The song ‘is just a straight few slices from my life and the things that we never end up saying to each other because you just accept that is the way it is and nothing will change,’ Beavis explains.

‘No Worries’ reinforces the importance of saying what we mean when we mean it to the people who need to hear it – usually those closest to us. It is whimsical, thoughtful and lilting, carrying the listener into its story and message, and even as we hear regret in Beavis’s vocal there is determination as well.
