Yet again we have a rich, varied crop of new releases including Hotel Texas, the debut album from Melbourne duo The Smith & Western Jury. There’s an interview coming with them in which you’ll find out more about their very storied musical lineage, but suffice to say this album is all killer, no filler.
There’s also a new album from Riley Catherall – I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet but Catherall’s first album, When I Go (2021) was impressive and the singles he’s released off the latest album suggest it will be no different. We also have a new single from Michael Waugh, which is the title track of his forthcoming album, and from the delightful Olive Mae, and an acoustic version of Les Thomas’s ‘Man on Fire’ from his album All My Friends Are Superstars (2023). In other words: plenty to keep you company this week. Full track list below the Spotify player. YouTube version here.
